The US Military has declared energy independence to be the foundation of energy security and is agressively moving toward achieving that goal in a way that only the military can.

Hawaii Green IT was excited to participate in the Hawaii Clean Energy Summit in 2009 and hear from every branch of the military as well as the overview from the D.O.D. What struck us was the extraordinary committment we saw to rapid deployment of all measures leading to the goal of energy independence. Of course this includes energy efficiency measures such as Green IT.

The Department of Defense deploys the Pacific Command, the joint mission of all defense branches to coordinate protection of the entire Pacific Theatre. the Pacific Command is currently doing field testing on a variety of energy efficiency measures. Hawaii Green IT stands ready to provide its Green IT solutions for testing and deployment.

Hawaii Green IT is working closely with ESCO's to bring integrated Data Center and client network Green IT solutions. These should be tied together with proven, measurable, validating energy saving solutions.

City and County

Although there has been some implementation of PC Power Management at the city level in Hawaii, we have just scratched the surface. Hawaii Green IT looks forward to increasing the effectiveness of what is already there and extending the reach to all islands and all computers.
