Hawaii Green IT is committed to educating Hawaii's youth about the need for and opportunities within Hawaii's energy transformation

Hawaii Green IT will address this educational mission is several ways.

1. A portion of every sale or consulting contract will be donated to develop sustainability curriculum for K-12 and beyond in conjunction with our non-profit partners.
2. As a developer of educational software Hawaii Green IT's founder is developing a game called the Hawaii Power Rainbow.
3. Hawaii Green IT will work with schools to provide speakers, presentations and support for school based programs focusing on Hawaii's energy future.

Hawai`i Power Rainbow

To see the future you have to visualize the future. The Hawai'i Power Rainbow is a visualization tool that incorporates all aspects of energy efficiency and renewable energy into a Hawaiian symbol and natural blessing to our aina, Anuenue the Rainbow.

Each color represents one kuleana or field of Hawaii's energy future and allows our keiki to see it as a whole with each color contributing the total solution.

The next step is to develop an interactive online game where problems appropriate to different educational levels will be solved in order to clear away the dark 'oil' cloud that covers up Hawaii's power rainbow.

For example if a player successful solves how to put a solar water heater on every house in Hawaii a portion of the cloud covering the yellow band of the rainbow will be revealed. Individuals or teams can play.
